The Genesis of Tabernacle NYC -

A Place to Call Home, with People to Call Family

The story of Tabernacle NYC is a testament to God’s faithfulness and the power of one man’s obedience to the call of God. It began on August 23, 2004, when a young and passionate minister, Robin Dinnanauth, newly graduated from college and filled with the fire of the Holy Spirit, boldly stepped out to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Moved by the prophetic Word and the mandate of revival, he began ministering with demonstrations of God’s healing and delivering power — accompanied by miracles, signs, and wonders.

Humble Beginnings: The ministry’s journey began in a small room that held only fifteen people, with two services per week. Yet, even in that small space, the glory of God filled the room. People experienced healing, deliverance, and transformation. The gatherings quickly grew beyond capacity, leading to the first relocation at 102-02 Liberty Avenue, Ozone Park, New York. What started as a small prayer gathering became a growing move of God — a place of freedom, healing, and restoration for people from all walks of life.

Growth and Outreach: As word spread of what God was doing, people from across New York, surrounding states, and even abroad began coming to experience the presence and power of God at Tabernacle NYC. Souls were saved weekly, families were restored, and miracles became the norm. To meet the growing need, a second Sunday service was added, and the ministry expanded through television outreach, miracle crusades, and street evangelism. The message was clear — take the Gospel to the people.

A New Home – A New Season: With steady growth and unstoppable momentum, Tabernacle NYC continued to expand. In 2017, through faith and the unified effort of a strong and devoted congregation, the ministry purchased its current home at 87-34 85th Street, Woodhaven, New York 11421. This beautiful sanctuary, with a seating capacity of 1,000 worshippers, now serves as the heart of revival for the community and beyond. Every week, the sanctuary resounds with passionate worship, prophetic preaching, and tangible encounters with God’s presence.

The Heart of the Vision: From its inception, Bishop Robin Dinnanauth’s desire was never to build a large church but to build a loving family and a healing house for the broken. Tabernacle NYC is more than a congregation — it’s a community of believers committed to growing in Christ, serving others, and transforming cities. Authentic relationships, small groups, and discipleship remain the foundation of its culture. Through these connections, lives are being rebuilt, faith is being strengthened, and destinies are being restored.

The Legacy Continues: Today, Tabernacle NYC continues to impact lives throughout the city, the nation, and the world. Thousands have been healed, delivered, and empowered through this ministry. The fire that started in a small room continues to burn — stronger than ever.

As Bishop Robin Dinnanauth often declares: “I have come to believe more deeply than ever that the local church is the hope of the world.”
